The HDPE Backdrop Manhole System is designed for reliable underground drainage and sewerage infrastructure. The manhole and chamber configuration can be customised according to actual site conditions, providing flexibility for different installation requirements.

Several site factors should be considered when selecting the suitable base configuration, including groundwater level, depth of cover and backfilling material.

For installations in areas with high groundwater levels, a double-bottom construction is recommended. The double-bottom section can be filled with liquid concrete on site to provide additional stability and lift retention.

The double-bottom design features two openings on the upper base: one for concrete filling and another for air venting during the filling process. Once the concrete has been filled and hardened, both openings should be securely closed with suitable covers.

For manholes up to 1200 mm diameter installed in groundwater conditions, a minimum 50 cm external backfilling width should be maintained to improve lift retention. Concrete filling around the benching may also be required depending on site conditions.
